Body: Looked at some DVD recording toys. Had a Zebra brownie. Tracked down a problem with asymmetric routing (my rp_filter somehow got set when I'm sure I cleared it). Set up a program to run to tell me when my rp_filter gets set. Answered a bunch of e-mail.

Body: Mucked with SuSE packages for Xorg, decided to leave it for tomorrow. Worked on installing VRML browsers and ran into dependency and hard-coded directory location annoyances. Grabbed the Q3A demo for Linux. Started fiddling with my tpb (Thinkpad buttons daemon) config - that eventually led to using xte (from the xautomation package at: http://hoopajoo.net/projects/xautomation.html) to generate X key events from tpb and thence to using xmodmap to bind X events to the Forward, Backward, and Fn buttons on my laptop. Finally (vaguely) understand X the outline of key handling. Ia Shub-Niggurath, Ia Cthulhu!

Body: Oh, just poking at gaim. A friend of mine is home-bound, and says he doesn't yet have the stamina to do hacking society (even if I go pick him up), but could handle a little internet chat. I'd never used gaim, so I gave it a shot. Got far enough to send him a message, but he wasn't connected.

Body: Poked at my phone using bitpim and added some new ringtones and such. Stupidly you have to listen to the tones, you can't use a headset to not annoy everyone around you. Had to re-install bitpim to get it working. Booted back in the 2.6.9-rc1-mm4 kernel that was so stable for me, all the ones since then have just sucked...
